From the Editor
Some memories, I’ve found, can anchor you as surely as they drift away for those you love. If you’re here, you know what it is to search for a clock your father can understand, or a label gentle enough for a mother who once remembered every birthday. I hope these finds lighten the load. — Sandra
Simple markers for dignity. No guessing, no awkwardness. Respect, not labels.
About Sandra
I am Sandra De La Zerda. I spent five years as the care lead for my parents—one with complex health, one with dementia—while raising my own kids and balancing a job. Nearly everything here I learned the hard way, with my sister beside me.
This is a magazine, not a blog or store. Every item or product on The Shelf is something I’ve really trusted—or would hand to my sister. No links ever for a quick commission. Affiliate earnings help keep the doors open for readers like you. Thank you for trusting me.
